Natalie Portman in Superman?
Yesterday we told you that Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler) had met with Christopher Nolan about potentially directing the new Superman movie, and not even 24 hours later we now have word that should Aronofsky take on the job, Natalie Portman will in all likelihood play Lois Lane. Moviehole reports that Warner Bros. originally wanted Portman to play Lois Lane in Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, but for whatever reason that didn't happen. Now, though, having just finished working with Aronofsky on Black Swan (which is a film that may earn the actress an Oscar), Portman would totally be down with taking on the role of Clark Kent/Superman's love interest … but only if Aronofsky directs.
Though, technically, it's not called Mission Impossible 4, that's how everyone seems to be referring to it. For example, THR reports today that Josh Holloway has nabbed his first big-screen role since leaving the TV show "Lost," and that he'll be part of Tom Cruise's Impossible Mission Force in the upcoming fourth installment of the action franchise. We still don't know what this sucker will be about, only that it won't really be a Mission Impossible movie in the way the previous three films were. It may have a different title and a different feel, though regardless the cast they're lining up is pretty impressive. Holloway will join Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Paula Patton and Vladimir Mashkov in the film, which will shoot in Vancouver, Prague and Dubai with an eye toward a release date of December 2011.
