When X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016, it'll have a different actress playing the mutant Jubilee than the one we first saw roaming the halls of Professor X's school in X-Men. Director Bryan Singer has revealed he's cast a complete unknown in the role, a newcomer named Lana Condor.

I'd officially like to welcome our newest mutant #JubilationLee, #Jubilee @LanaCondor to #XMEN #Apocalypse

In fact, this will be the third actress to play Jubilee on the big screen, following Katrina Florece in X-Men and Kea Wong in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand

What's a bit more intriguing about this casting, though, isn't that it's a new actress playing a character we've already seen -- it's that it's a new version of a character that we've already seen.

Apocalypse takes place during the '80s, some 15-20 years before the events of X-Men. And considering Jubilee is a teen in those first three movies, it's peculiar that she's still a teen in the '80s. Her power is to shoot bursts of plasma, not immortality.

But if X-Men: Days of Future Past taught us anything about the continuity timeline, it's that anything and everything is pretty much fair game. What other changes will we see when Apocalypse hits theaters next summer?

Better yet -- what changes do you hope to see?
