A hot spin-off, a highly anticipated sequel and an exciting historical thriller have just recruited some new cast members. Here's what we know:
The Lego Batman Movie
Who just got cast?
Mariah Carey, diva singer extraordinaire.
Who is she playing?
Carey will voice the part of Gotham City's mayor (not Commissioner Gordon, as was initially reported).
Who else is on board?
Will Arnett is reprising his Lego Movie role as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and he's joined by Michael Cera as Robin/Dick Grayson, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, and Rosario Dawson as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon.
What else is known about the movie?
While the plot is unknown, it will obviously focus on the Lego version of the Caped Crusader and Gotham City, hopefully with more angry songs about being an orphan. The script will come from Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), and Chris McKay, who worked on The Lego Movie as animation codirector and editor, is at the helm, and it hits theaters on February 10, 2017.

Who just got cast?
John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick, Tom Sadoski, Bridget Moynahan, Ruby Rose, Riccardo Scamarcio and Peter Stormare.
Who are they playing?
The first four are reprising their roles from the first movie, Moynahan again in spite of her character being deceased. The others' parts were not disclosed.
Who else is on board?
Keanu Reeves is back as the titular hit man, and Ian McShane is also already known to be reprising his role. Common was also recently cast as the villain.
What else is known about the movie?
The official plot synopsis revealed is that "John Wick is back!" Meanwhile, only one of the directors of the original is back: Chad Stahelski (David Leitch is still on board as a producer). The script will again be written by Derek Kolstad, and it's said that this will be the second part in a trilogy. The film is currently on track to hit theaters next year.

Who is he playing?
Real-life FBI executive Charles W. Bates, who is most famous for leading the Patty Hearst kidnapping investigation but also earlier was a part of the bureau's investigation of Watergate, alongside secret "Deep Throat" whistleblower Mark Felt.
Who else is on board?
Liam Neeson will star in the movie as Mark Felt, while Diane Lane has been cast as his wife.
What else is known about the movie?
As Bateman's casting suggests, it's a movie about Felt and how he was "Deep Throat," the anonymous contact for Woodward and Bernstein's reporting on the Watergate scandal. The true story will be depicted as a spy thriller by writer/director Peter Landesman, who with Parkland and the upcoming Concussion is earning a reputation for historical drama. Among its producers are Ridley Scott and Tom Hanks, star of the new real spy thriller Bridge of Spies. No release date has been announced yet.
