If your only exposure to Spider-Man has been through the live-action movies, then you've only ever known the one Spider-Man. Sure, he may have been played by three different actors with three different takes, but every time they were playing Peter Parker. He's not the only teen to ever put on the Spidey suit, though. The other big name to do so is Miles Morales, and he's finally getting a movie.

No, the Tom Holland Spider-Man we just met in Captain America: Civil War isn't getting replaced. That version will still continue on with Spider-Man: Homecoming. But that's not the only Spider-Man movie in the works at Sony. The studio is also doing an animated movie -- one that will be disconnected from the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- with The Lego Movie creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller. And now, after much speculation, we officially know the Spider-Man of that movie will be Miles Morales.

In the comics, Morales takes up the Spider-Man mantle after the untimely death of Peter Parker. We don't know if that's going to be the case in the movies as well. They may come up with a different origin story considering it's already going to be awkward enough trying to explain why there are two different Spider-Man universes, yet alone that Peter Parker is hypothetically dead in one of them. Either way, we are finally going to see a different Spider-Man when the currently untitled animated movie hits theaters on December 21, 2018.
