Dwayne Johnson

More than two years ago, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that he would be playing the villainous Black Adam in an upcoming DC Comics movie. Though no other details were provided at the time, it appeared to be a reasonable assumption that Black Adam would be a character in a planned Shazam movie.

Recently Johnson shared a photo with Henry Cavill, best known as Superman, teasing the idea that Black Adam and Superman might appear together before the Shazam movie. Now Johnson has shared a new photo, captioned with his thoughts on a meeting with DC Comics.

Although Johnson doesn't mention any specifics about which movie(s) Black Adam might appear in, it's definitely of interest that he talks about the "tonal shifts" planned for upcoming projects. We'll have to wait impatiently to see what develops.

Deadpool

Turning to Fox's plans for its Marvel movies, we're now hearing that Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) will return in Deadpool 2, according to writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. As reported by Collider, Wernick says, "They'll make at least an appearance."

Granted, that could mean the mutant characters will only be making a brief cameo, but it's still good news for fans of the original. Reportedly, the sequel will revolve around Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Cable, with the mercenary mutant Domino also touted for a key role. Neither Cable nor Domino has been cast yet, though the movie is expected to begin production early this year. Also returning will be Dopinder, the first film's fan-favorite taxi driver, played by Karan Soni.

The Defenders

We've enjoyed seeing the Marvel universe unfold in series form on Netflix over the past couple of years. So far, we've seen Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, with Iron Fist set to debut on March 17. Naturally, the shows have made us eager to see how the New York City-based heroes will team up in The Defenders.

The first official photo has now debuted at Entertainment Weekly.

Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) are all returning. Sigourney Weaver will portray the villain. Filming has begun on the series, which is slated to premiere on Netflix this summer.
