One of the hottest panels of this year's Comic-Con was held for Star Wars, mostly for this year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and we were there to get all the scoop and share some of the new images from the highly anticipated sequel. Here's the important stuff we learned and saw:
- First of all, contrary to rumors, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is not already shooting. It begins production in three weeks.
- Joining Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill representing the original cast onstage, Harrison Ford made his first public appearance since his plane crash, and even without that accident it was a surprise to see him. When the actor was asked what it felt like to walk onto a new Star Wars set, he said, "It should have felt ridiculous, but it felt great."

- Domhnall Gleeson, who came out along with Gwendoline Christie and Adam Driver representing the Dark Side, is a villain named General Hux. His base of operations as part of the First Order is called "Starkiller Base," named after George Lucas's original surname for Luke in early drafts of the first Star Wars.
- There wasn't a new Force Awakens trailer to show the crowd (look for the next one this fall), but there were some visual goodies, including a behind-the-scenes clip featuring Fisher in braided hair for her return as Princess Leia and Simon Pegg in a creature suit that will obscure his face in his scene(s), plus Admiral Ackbar, Nien Nunb, Han Solo (Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and more. Fortunately, it's arrived online for you to see it:

- Hundreds of practical effects were used in the making of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and here's a look at some of the new robotically portrayed characters, introduced by one creature called Bobbajo.
