Not that we need any additional convincing – we’ll be front and center for Star Trek Into Darkness on opening day, without a doubt – but Paramount’s latest international trailer for J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi sequel packs in all of the amazing goodies we’ve come to expect. You’re going to want to check it out as soon as possible.  
 

 

This trailer establishes more of Abrams’ plot, which has been kept under wraps up to this point. Into Darkness now plays like a vengeance film, with Chris Pine’s still-wet-behind-the-ears Captain Kirk pursuing Benedict Cumberbatch to the farthest reaches of the galaxy after the villain launches a full-frontal assault on Starfleet. 

 

Clues embedded in the international trailer helped Star Trek app users to unlock a new Into Darkness posters, as well:

 

 

J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness promises to be one of this summer’s most action-packed adventures, building on the success of the original Star Trek reboot while also pushing the envelope on the director’s new universe. Fans can take a journey with the U.S.S. Enterprise beginning on May 15.
