Please allow me to introduce myself… the name’s Malone, Alicia Malone. Fandango correspondent and pretend secret agent. My assignment? To travel to Mexico City and interview the cast of the new James Bond film, SPECTRE. Assignment accepted.

And with that, I hung up the red phone (OK, my iPhone), packed my suitcase with all my gadgets and spy disguises, and headed to the airport… [Hit play to view the video - yes, it works!]

SPECTRE is the 24th official James Bond movie, and though the theme of security and loss of privacy is distinctly modern, this film has the most references to classic Bond films yet. So, like any good superspy, I used my time on the plane to gather some intel…

The opening of SPECTRE is quite spectre-ac-ular (sorry) as we meet James Bond in Mexico City during the Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos) festival. This holiday is celebrated in Mexico over three days; and I happened to be in the city on the first day, children’s day.

At night, families ride bicycles and walk the streets in makeup and costumes, so I headed out under deep cover as an overly excited Australian tourist to soak in the atmosphere.

The next morning it was time to interrogate the cast of SPECTRE, and I was ready to use all of my secret-agent skills to get the information out of them. Fortunately, I found the villain was ready to talk…

And with that, my mission was accomplished. I packed up my things and headed home to Los Angeles. It seemed I would have to die another day (cue music and me firing a gun at the camera) …  Malone, over and out.
