In just over a month, fans finally get to see Batman and Superman duke it out on the big screen. And less than a month after the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (which we've just learned is 2 hours and 31 minutes long), its director, Zack Snyder, will begin shooting the massively anticipated superhero team-up Justice League Part One.
Here's what we know about this megafranchise event picture:
Where do we get our proof that this Justice League movie is really happening?
According to Entertainment Weekly, this ultimate in DC Comics adaptations starts filming on April 11.
You know we've come this close before, right?
Yes, George Miller's Justice League Mortal was set to start filming in February 2008 and then was put on hold as close as mid January. Thought it was promised a few months later, that too never happened and eventually the project quietly went away forever.
And Snyder is still on board as director?
Contrary to rumors floating around about Warner Bros. possibly wanting to take a different direction for the DC extended universe movies, Snyder is still set to helm the next level of the franchise.
Is Justice League Part One the next installment after Batman v Superman?
No, there's also David Ayer's Suicide Squad, out this summer, and Patty Jenkins's Wonder Woman, due in June 2017, before all of the Justice League heroes come together for this movie.
But is Justice League Part One a continuation of events in Batman v Superman?
That's the presumption. Both DC movies arriving between the movies are supposed to take place before Batman v Superman, with Wonder Woman being set as long ago as World War II. Batman v Superman will probably end with all the DC heroes coming together for the literal dawn of Justice (League).
Who all is in the League again? And who is playing them?
Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Mamoa), the Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Green Lantern, who has yet to be officially cast (though current rumor has Dan Amboyer of TV's Younger in the role).
And do we know who the big bad is yet?
Snyder has hinted at least that Doomsday, after being introduced in Batman v Superman, is still a major villain in Justice League Part One. Whether he's the only or main villain is not known.
Where is Justice League Part One shooting?
Reportedly the majority of the movie will film in England's Leavesden Studios and the rest will shoot on location in the U.K. and Iceland.
When do we finally get to see all these heroes united as a team on the big screen?
Release day is November 17, 2017.
What about Justice League Part Two?
The follow-up to this first Justice League movie is set to arrive less than two years later, on June 14, 2019.
