Not long ago we told you how Legendary Pictures was gearing up to bring Godzilla back to the big screen. I've been told this version of Godzilla will focus a lot more on the creature and less on the humans – with Godzilla being the lead character, and the audience rooting for him (her? It?) to succeed instead of be destroyed. Think King Kong, but with, well, Godzilla.

Godzilla

At Comic-Con, Legendary Pictures surprised a lot of folks by revealing the first piece of concept art for their upcoming Godzilla movie, and it looks pretty badass. Godzilla is up on two legs, all lizard-like – with spikes on his back and a glowing mouth. Buildings are crashing in all around him, and most of it glows orange as if it's on fire.

I like this Godzilla. This is what Godzilla is supposed to look like, and I hope they deviate from the sub-par 1998 film starring Matthew Broderick by making a monster movie about monsters, instead of a monster movie about annoying people getting in the way of everything.

What do you think? Like the look of this new Godzilla?
