The Dark Knight Rises’ in Pittsburgh

It’s one of the most anticipated films of 2012, and so when there’s even the tiniest bit of news, you’ll be hearing about it. This latest bit has to do with where the production will be filming, with a quote from director Christopher Nolan confirming that Pittsburgh will play home to a good part of the film’s production this summer. Nolan told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, “Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman."

Up until now Chicago has played home to Gotham, so will that change? Is Pittsburgh the new Gotham?

So What’s Up with ‘Star Trek 2’

Though a Summer 2012 release date is supposedly in the cards, fans are still waiting for some sort of Star Trek 2 update that confirms they are indeed on track to deliver the much-anticipated sequel next year. Speaking at WonderCon, Trek co-writer Roberto Orci says he hopes production will begin this fall and that the script is still being tweaked.

On one potential story point, Orci told Coming Soon, "Everyone said [Kirk] is too young to become Captain," he explains, "So maybe in the next movie, somebody goes, 'Man, you sure became Captain young and fast.' You start to incorporate people's opinions... If it's organic to the story and you find someone who doesn't think too highly of Kirk because he maybe skipped a few steps, that's maybe a fun thing to consider. That comes from a fan reaction and maybe gives you a story point."

Excellent Fan-Made ‘X-Men: First Class’ Opening Title Sequence

While those of us X-Men fanatics patiently wait for the next film in the franchise to debut on June 3rd (X-Men: First Class), some fans are taking it upon themselves to start building hype early by creating a very impressive fan-made opening title sequence that plays into the spirit of the film’s 1960s setting by introducing the sort of retro vibe I’m sure we’d all love to see from the final film. Check it out below and let us know what you think. Maybe Fox will pick it up, tweak it and slap it on as a DVD extra. That’d be fun, huh?
