Disney chief Bob Iger recently sat down for a sprawling conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, touching on everything from how they manage their massive brands, like Pixar, Marvel, Disney Animation and Lucasfilm, to whether he'll ever get into politics, to the future of Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

It's those last two film properties movie fans will be most interested in (though we recommend reading the entire piece, especially when Iger talks about the impact Pixar has had on Disney Animation). While there wasn't a whole lot on Star Wars (Iger dismissed the Rogue One reshoots, saying he thinks it's going to make "a fine film"), he did confirm that ol' Diz wants to make more than one Indiana Jones movie.

Iger was cagey when discussing their exact plans for Indiana Jones, confirming they're bringing Harrison Ford back for the next one... and then perhaps rebooting the franchise?

After explaining that they don't plan to build the Indiana Jones brand out to be as expansive as Star Wars, he says, "But we hope … right now, we're focused on a reboot, or a continuum and then a reboot of some sort."

So that makes it sound like this next one, due out July 19, 2019 and directed by Steven Spielberg, will be a continuation of the ongoing story and then the film after that will be a reboot.

However, this is the following exchange:

Reboot? You've got Harrison Ford for this movie, and then the presumption is there will be a younger …

Well, we'll bring him back, then we have to figure out what comes next. That's what I mean. It's not really a reboot, it's a boot — a reboot. I don't know.

THR has been using the term "requel" for these sequels that reboot the franchise.

Requel. [Laughs] We [got] Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in the film. But then what's the direction? I've had discussions about what the direction is, [but] I don't want to get into it.

It kind of sounds like they plan to do what they may have originally intended to do with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which was to use a sequel to reboot the franchise a la Jurassic World. Does that mean the new Indy film will costar the person who'll take over the franchise from Ford? And how amusing would it be if they just got the new Han Solo, Alden Ehrenreich, to also take over as Indiana Jones Jr.?
