I've been on a bit of a roll lately when it comes to picking the top earner at the box office, so while I sit here and try to figure out the most comfortable ways to pat myself on the back, let's take a look at what new films are arriving in theaters today – all of which will be looking to knock How to Train Your Dragon out of the number one spot.

'Clash of the Titans,' 'The Last Song' and 'Why Did I Get Married Too?'

 
What's the Scoop: A remake of the beloved sci-fi cult classic, this one stars star-of-the-moment Sam Worthington as a warrior (aka the mortal son of Zeus) who sets out on a journey to prevent the underworld from controlling the universe.
 
Why It Might Win the Weekend: Though the 3D conversion of Titans is bothering a lot of people, the fact that it's in 3D and full of ridiculous amounts of monsters and special effects means it should make a killing at the box office, at least in its first weekend. Welcome, friends, to the unofficial beginning of the summer movie season.
 
 
What's the Scoop: Miley Cyrus stars in a role where she's not playing Hannah Montana, opposite her now real-life boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. In the film, Cyrus plays a rebellious teen who's sent to live with her estranged father for the summer, and, through their mutual love for music, both begin to reconnect.
 
Why It Might Win the Weekend: Is Miley Cyrus still wicked popular with the younger tweens? If she is, then this might not be the movie for them – it's a little more adult and dramatic than anything she's done for Hannah Montana. That said, with the boys running to watch titans fight monsters, this seems like a nice alternative for young couples looking to cuddle in a darkened theater.

My Prediction: Titans will clash with dragons at the box office, but look for the former (meaning Clash of the Titans) to pull away with a victory.
