Biography
Actor Patrick Murney played cops in both period police procedural "Public Morals" (TNT, 2015) and race relations drama "Seven Seconds" (Netflix, 2018-), and also enjoyed supporting parts in indie movies "Bluebird" (2013), "Staring at the Sun" (2016) and "The Passing Season" (2016). Born in Pennsylvania in 1987, Murney gained his first acting credit on failed TV pilot "Family Values" (2007), but eventually made it onto screens three years later in an episode of "Law and Order" (NBC, 1990-2010). After guesting on "Blue Bloods" (CBS, 2010-), Murney made his film debut in celebrity satire "King Kelly" (2012), played Wade in small-town tragedy "Bluebird" (2013) and landed a minor role in one of Philip Seymour Hoffman's final films, "God's Pocket" (2014). Murney then showed up in faith healer comedy "Saint Janet" (2014) and intimate character study "James White" (2015) before landing his first recurring role, Officer Petey 'Mac' Mackenna, in Edward Burns' short-lived 1960s cop drama "Public Morals" (TNT, 2015). Murney spent the next three years focusing on his movie work, playing supporting characters in indie comedy "Staring at the Sun" (2016) and fraternity hazing tale "Goat" (2016), as well as sharing the screen with his actor father Christopher in the Kickstarter-funded "The Passing Season" (2016). Murney then went onto work with acclaimed directors Taylor Hackford and Todd Haynes in the Robert De Niro-starring "The Comedian" (2016) and interweaving mystery "Wonderstruck" (2017), respectively, before landing the leading role of Gram Wilde in "Dish" (2018). Murney was then cast as policeman Gary Wilcox in "Seven Seconds" (Netflix, 2018-), a crime drama adapted from Russian action movie "The Major" (2013).
