Biography
Nicolas Wright, although a native of Montreal, spent the majority of his career in Hollywood. Trained as a stage actor, Wright cut his teeth in local theater. He appeared in numerous starring roles such as the title character in an adaptation of "The Picture of Dorian Gray," which nearly won him his first acting award. While still in his early 20s, Wright landed a role on the racy MTV coed serial "Undressed," and from there continued to work on a regular basis in Hollywood films and TV. He played a small role in the big-budget, big-cast-list 2005 golf feature "The Greatest Game Ever Played," for example, and in "The Business," a short-lived TV series satirizing the indie film movement. Wright's first high-profile role was as Davis, the freeloading pal of the male lead character on the relationship comedy "Accidentally on Purpose," a network sitcom starring Jenna Elfman that lasted only one season. Branching out to work in other genres, the actor appeared in a BBC-produced pseudo-documentary sci-fi TV movie, "Superstorm" in 2007. Between film and TV assignments, Wright took the time to develop his own works (such as his short film "Toutouffe") and perform with his Montreal-based improv and sketch troupe.
