Biography
With his impeccable mix of stage and screen experience, Nathaniel Martello-White brought a striking sense of groundedness to each character he plays. Born in London in 1984, Martello-White began appearing in productions with National Youth Theater as a youngster, eventually enrolling at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Excelling as a stage performer, the young actor would go on to embark on a successful professional career, making his on-screen debut in an episode of "Trial & Retribution" (ITV, 1997-) in 2007, the same year he co-starred in a production of "The Brothers Size" at the Young Vic-an experience that inspired him to begin writing plays himself. Martello-White would go on to appear in small roles in films like "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" (2008), even as he continued to pursue a flourishing career in theater, co-starring in "The City Madam" and "Marat/Sade" with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2011, and finally producing one of his own plays, "Blackta," at the Young Vic in 2012. He would co-star in the World War II movie "Red Tails" (2012) and play Spencer in Marlowe's "Edward II" at the National Theatre in 2013, before he produced his second play, "Torn," at the Royal Court Theatre in 2016. The following year, he would star alongside Idris Elba in the miniseries "Guerillas" (Sky, 2017).
