Biography
Naomi Scott was born on May 6, 1993 in London, England. She took to singing from an early age, performing at church and in school productions before being discovered by professional singer and pop star Kéllé Bryan and partnering with the songwriting and recording production team Xenomania. In her mid teens, Scott made acting her primary creative pursuit, landing a regular role on the comedy series "Life Bites" (Disney Channel UK 2008-09). Not long after the program's cancelation, Scott earned yet another starring position on a likewise short-lived show: "Terra Nova" (Fox 2011), the high concept science-fiction event series produced by Steven Spielberg. That same year, she appeared among the central cast in the TV musical movie "Lemonade Mouth" (Disney Channel 2011), in which she put her vocal acumen to use. In the years following the demise of "Terra Nova," Scott appeared sporadically in short-form productions, and revisited her music career. She released the album Invisible Division (2014) and contributed to rapper Nick Brewer's album "Four Miles Further" (2014). Scott returned to acting with her feature film debut in the 2010 Copiapó mining accident drama "The 33" (2015) and the Academy Award-nominated sci-fi drama "The Martian" (2015). On the television side, Scott also appeared on two episodes of the final season of the detective drama "Inspector Lewis" (ITV 2006-2015). Also in 2015, Scott was cast to play Kimberly Hart, the Pink Ranger, in the reboot film "Power Rangers" (2017). Scott followed that up with even more high profile turns as Princess Jasmine in the live-action "Aladdin" (2019) and in the rebooted "Charlie's Angels" (2019) directed by Elizabeth Banks.
