Biography
Michael Lange is a prolific television director with over 75 screen credits to his name. He developed an interest in drama at a young age and studied theater at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. After graduating from college, Lange moved to New Jersey and performed with numerous local theater groups before accepting a job at an advertising agency. In 1980 he left the ad business and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his writing ambitions. He became second assistant director on the action-adventure series "The Fall Guy" and was soon promoted to series director. He found steady work on such series as "Riptide" and "Guns of Paradise," and in 1991 he directed over 15 episodes of the critically acclaimed family drama "Life Goes On." By the late '90s Lange had worked on such high-profile shows as "Picket Fences," "Beverly Hills, 90210," and "The X-Files," and collaborated with comedienne Tracey Ullman on the show "Tracey Takes On...." Beginning in 2000, Lange worked on popular teen shows like "Dawson's Creek" and "The O.C.," and directed episodes for such short-lived series as "Eli Stone" and "Everwood." In 2008 he signed on as executive producer of"Greek," and he has since directed over 25 episodes of the collegiate series. Since 2009 he has also worked as executive producer and director on "Drop Dead Diva," and filmed an episode of the teen sports show "Make It or Break It."
