Biography
Analeigh Tipton did not have a typical path to becoming an actor. In fact, they led a varied life and career as a figure skater and model before turning to acting and writing. Born on November 9, 1988, in Minneapolis, the family moved to Sacramento when they were eight. Even before settling in Northern California, Tipton began skating at the age of two and a half, and would go on to compete in four U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. With partner Philip Cooke, Tipton became a two-time regional champion, and made it to the U.S. Junior Figure Skating Championship twice. They eventually quit skating at age sixteen, but would return to the ice for charity events. Tipton competed on the reality TV contest "America's Next Top Model" (UPN 2003-06, The CW 2006-) in 2003 after being discovered on MySpace. Tipton came in third, and would model for Ford Models and Abrams Artists Agency. Tipton made the covers of Marie Claire in Spain, Seventeen, Maxim, Vogue, and ad campaigns for Forever 21 and Guess, among others. Tipton studied film at Marymount College; their first screen credit came with a guest spot on the hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" (CBS 2007-), which led to a role in the big screen edition of "The Green Hornet" (2011). Tipton went on to the big screen ensemble comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love" (2011), starring Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling, and the romantic zombie comedy "Warm Bodies" (2013). Tipton loved the undead genre, and was writing a zombie screenplay. Other Tipton credits included a co-starring role on the sexy cable series "Hung" (HBO 2009-2011), and Luc Besson's sci-fi feature "Lucy" (2014), starring Scarlett Johansson. Tipton's first starring role came in 2014, when they landed the female lead on the romantic sitcom "Manhattan Love Story" (ABC 2014-15).
