Biography
Trained in his native England, distinctive actor Julian Richings is an internationally recognized performer with a proclivity for genre films. Richings pulled stakes for Canada in the '80s, where he easily filled multiple roles in a serialized small screen adaptation of H.G. Wells' "War of the Worlds." By the mid '90s, he was appearing in several film per year, though his breakthrough came in the cult 1996 punk music mockmentary, "Hard Core Logo," playing faux rock superstar Bucky Haight in the movie. Vincenzo Natali's "Cube" proved a perfect match for Richings' offbeat sensibilities, and he appeared in the thriller as an ill-fated man trapped in a dangerous Kafkaesque maze. In 2003, Richings' put his unique visage to nefarious use, scarring American audiences as Three Fingers, a disfigured cannibal in Rob Schmidt's 2003 chiller, "Wrong Turn." Richings teamed with blockbuster filmmaker Brett Ratner in 2006 for the climactic trilogy-capper "X-Men: The Last Stand," in which he played a mutant theater director. Richings collaborated with Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti the following year in the loony action farce "Shoot 'Em Up." In 2010, he reprised his role as Bucky Haight in director Bruce McDonald's "Hard Core Logo 2." Richings has over 100 acting credits to his name.
