Biography
One of Hollywood's most versatile and prolific voice actors, James Arnold Taylor played a plethora of animated legends, served as a double for numerous A-list stars and breathed life into dozens of video game characters. Born in Santa Barbara, CA in 1969, Taylor started his voiceover career in the mid-90s, with hit cartoon "Johnny Bravo" (Cartoon Network, 1997-2004), the English version of anime series "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" (Anime Network, 2001) and video game "Final Fantasy X" (2001) some of his more notable first credits. Following a rare appearance in front of the camera in "The Comedy Team of Pete and James" (2001), Taylor returned to more familiar territory for a debut lead role in direct-to-video animation "Atlantis: Milo's Return" (2003), played Obi-Wan Kenobi on the first of many occasions in "Star Wars: Clone Wars" (Cartoon Network, 2003-05) and Fred Flintstone in several commercials, and voiced Willy Wonka, Prince Charming and Captain Jack Sparrow in various video game titles. Taylor's voice finally made it to the big screen when he was cast as Leonardo in reboot "TMNT" (2007), and went onto be heard in DTV films "Justice League: The New Frontier" (2008), "Bionicle: The Legend Reborn" (2009) and "Green Lantern: Emerald Knights" (2011), small-screen spin-offs "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" (Cartoon Network, 2007-2011), "The Spectacular Spider-Man" (The CW, 2008-09) and "G.I. Joe: Renegades" (Hub Network, 2010-11) and video game adaptations "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" (2009), "How to Train Your Dragon" (2010) and "Back to the Future: The Game" (2010). After talking about his craft in the documentary "I Know That Voice" (2013), Taylor added "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H." (Disney XD, 2013-15), "Lego Marvel Superheroes" (2013) and "Guardians of the Galaxy" (Disney XD, 2015-) to his extensive list of credits, reprised one of his regular video game roles, Ratchet, for the feature-film "Ratchet and Clank" (2016) and joined Emily Blunt, Ian McKellen and Sylvester Stallone in the voice cast of "Animal Crackers" (2016).
