Biography
English actress Georgina Campbell was born on June 12, 1992 in Maidstone, Kent. The daughter of a police officer and a teacher, Campbell was 16 when she was "discovered" on the streets of London. A director named Sarah Walker advised her to audition for a MySpace webseries called "Freaks" (2009), and Campbell would end up landing the lead role of Lucy. The taste of acting made her want to pursue it as a career, and she would study film at Royal Holloway, University of London. Campbell played recurring character Whitney Landon on the children's comedy series "Sadie J" (CBBC, 2011-13) for its first two seasons, and made her film debut in the Belgian-French crime film "One Night" (2012) with a small part. Campbell became a prolific television actor in Britain, breaking out with her role as Ashley Jones in the TV film "Murdered by My Boyfriend" (2014). She won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Leading Actress for the role. Campbell would then have a massive 2017. She landed a small role in Guy Ritchie's action-fantasy blockbuster "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" (2017) and played Detective Constable Katie Harford on the third and final season of the critically acclaimed crime drama "Broadchurch" (2017). Campbell also appeared in an episode each of two beloved sci-fi anthology series: the "Hang the DJ" episode of "Black Mirror" (Channel 4, 2011- ) and "Impossible Planet" of "Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams" (Channel 4, 2017- ). Campbell co-starred as Lyta Zod in the Superman prequel show "Krypton" (Syfy, 2018- ), which took place on the titular planet 200 years before Superman's birth.
