Biography
Georgian-born American actress Elena Satine first caught attention as prostitute Judi Silver in period drama "Magic City" (Starz, 2012-13) before landing the role of the unhinged black sheep of a wealthy family, Louise Ellis-Ross, in soapy drama "Revenge" (ABC, 2011-2015). Born in Tbilisi in 1988, Satine began her showbiz career at a young age, joining the Mickey Mouse Club-style ensemble of child performers known as Nergebi at five and headlining the Kinotavr Festival on her own at nine. After convincing her parents to let her study in America, Satine moved to New York to attend the Professional Performing Arts School, and after honing her craft further at the Moscow Art Theatre School and London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, she made her on-screen debut in the Forest Whittaker-starring spiritual drama "Ripple Effect" (2007). Following cameos in nightclub comedy "Bar Starz" (2008) and short-lived sci-fi series "Gemini Division" (NBC, 2008), Satine starred as immigrant Russian singer Nadia Koslov in an episode of crime procedural "Cold Case" (CBS, 2003-2010), played doomed wardrobe assistant Anca in J-horror remake "Don't Look Up" (2009) and guested as actress Abby Douglas in the reboot of "Melrose Place" (The CW, 2009-2010). After adding cautionary Hollywood tale "The Harsh Life of Veronica Lambert" (2009) to her resume, Satine appeared as Countess Andrenyi in the "Murder on the Orient Express" episode of "Agatha Christie's Poirot" (ITV, 1989-2013), Aquaman's wife Mera in Superman origin story "Smallville" (The WB, 2001-2011) and the daughter of a defense minister in crime drama "NCIS" (CBS, 2003-). Satine's big break arrived when she was cast as call girl Judi Silver in post-Cuban Revolution drama "Magic City" (Starz, 2012-13), which was followed by a two-episode stint as Lorelei on Marvel Comics adaptation "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (ABC, 2013-) and a recurring gig as Margot on soccer-playing secret agent series "Matador" (El Rey Network, 2014-). In 2014, she joined the fourth season of primetime soap opera "Revenge" (ABC, 2011-) as Louise Ellis-Ross, the mentally unstable outcast of a wealthy family who develops an unhealthy fixation with Victoria, and later that year played young escort Ellie Green in political thriller "Zipper" (2015). Satine then continued to focus on the big screen, landing the parts of Jaki in indie drama "A Beautuful Now" (2015) and Elena in Tyler Shields' second directorial effort, "Outlaw" (2015).
