Biography
This veteran production executive supervised the making of many television movies during the 1980s and into the 90s. Beginning as a page for NBC, Brown gained considerable experience as a controller-estimator for such production companies as American International Pictures and such television-oriented enterprises as Desilu and Metromedia. This background in budget work stood him in good stead when he moved into executive positions at EMI and United Artists. More notable, however, was his stint at the ITC production company, creating TV-movie fare for all three networks including "A Time to Live" (NBC, 1985), "Christmas Comes to Willow Creek" (CBS, 1987), "David" (ABC, 1988) and "People Like Us" (NBC, 1990). Brown also supervised such similarly modest-scale feature films as the cult thriller, "Stepfather" (1987) and "Stepfather 2" (1989). Brown's career came full circle when he took charge of all film and miniseries production at NBC, where his career had begun on a more humble note 25 years earlier. In 1996, he moved to ABC Productions as vice president of production, where he has overseen the development of programming that was a joint venture with the Lifetime cable network.
