Biography
Carrie Ann Inaba was born on Jan. 5, 1968 in Honolulu, HI. She practiced dance throughout childhood, and used her musical talents to win a statewide talent competition at the age of 16. Following her graduation from high school, Inaba pursued a musical career in Japan, collaborating with Pony Canyon Records on the singles Party Girl (1987), China Blue (1987), and Be Your Girl (1987). She studied at the Tokyo, Japan-based Sophia University all the while. Ultimately, Inaba returned to the United States, enrolling first in the University of California, Irvine, and then in the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1990, Inaba made her television debut as a cast member on "In Living Color" (Fox 1990-94), after which she joined Madonna as a dancer for her 1993 international concert tour The Girlie Show World Tour. On the big screen, Inaba went on to appear in major films like "Showgirls" (1995) and both "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" (1999) and "Austin Powers in Goldmember" (2002). In 2005, Inaba joined the dance competition series "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC 2005-) as a judge. During her tenure on the series, she also became the cohost of the daytime television program "The Talk" (CBS 2017-).
