Alicia Vikander could wear a paper bag and still knock everyone’s socks off, but the ‘Jason Bourne’ star has consistently owned whatever red carpet she walks (in killer heels, no less) with expert style choices. Here are some of her most fashionable moments to date.

Alicia Vikander was a sparkly standout at the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards with this block-patterned Louis Vuitton gown. While most everyone else played it safe with solids that night, ‘The Danish Girl’ nominee glistened in her sequined garb. 

Always eliciting the most outrageous outfits, the 2016 Met Gala was no different as its theme celebrated the evolving relationship between man and machine. The ‘Ex Machina’ star knew just what to do, short of pulling out a robot-arm accessory, having fun with striking mixed prints and fierce boots in her Louis Vuitton ensemble.

Vincent Van Gogh would’ve had a field day with this starry night of a dress (designed by Mary Katrantzou) Alicia wore to the 2016 Critics Choice Awards. The detailing and structure of it was exciting – swirls and dots and bedazzlements galore – so Alicia wisely kept her accessory action subdued. 

Simplicity can be stunning, as Alicia proved when she wore this silk piece that may have looked like an apron-wedding dress hybrid on someone else. The subtle design and pulled-back hair lent all the attention to her gorgeous face, and she managed to look collected and comfortable all night at the 2016 Golden Globes.

People look their best when they’re feeling themselves. Exhibit A: Alicia at the L.A. premiere of ‘The Danish Girl’ in 2015. Her bohemian maxi dress was understated and her makeup natural -- it was obviously just so “her” that everyone loved it.

Talk about your ideal little black dress. Alicia's TIFF 2015 gown was a testament to the fact that, yes, there is such a thing as casual chic, and that no, there are no limits to what fabrics can be stitched together (this number included satin, leather AND crêpe).

The interplay between the zipper, belt-like leather fragments, and material in this Louis Vuitton dress was pretty wild, and on anyone else it might have been strange, but Alicia managed to make it low-key playful and somehow still pretty elegant at ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’'s New York premiere in 2015.

Props to Alicia Vikander for giving a well-timed wink to the 19th century – the era in which ‘Anna Karenina’ takes place – with this modish take on a Victorian print dress, fit with a high neckline and lacy cuffs to boot. Not only was her look incredibly flattering, but it was also thematically on-point for the 2012 premiere of that film.

Disney princess revivals have been all the rage lately, so it makes total sense that Alicia Vikander chose to channel her inner Belle (a.k.a. Beauty) with this daffodil-colored LV ball gown on her big night, the 2016 Academy Awards. It was a sparkly winner that night that had fashion critics mixed, but we think she looked like the belle of the ball. 

Even when she does dial the glam factor back a notch, she's still a vision. At the 2016 Palm Springs International Film Festival, for example, she wowed in a summery, baby-shower pink Erdem dress that perfectly suited her calm and cool vibe.

That might not sound like a winning combination, but in fact, it made for one of the most fun and inspiring looks Alicia Vikander's ever worn, at the 2015 Women in Hollywood Awards. The delicate bracelet and statement shoes took it to the next level. 

This loose-pants-and-sweater combo was pure want when she wore it at a casual spring 2015 event held by AOL in New York. The color popped and the matching top and shoes tied it together with class.

Not every dress has to body-hug to be flattering, and Vikander was living proof of that with this elegant floral Erdem design that looked cozy and pretty and revealed just enough shoulder to show off her glowing skin at ‘The Fifth Estate' TIFF premiere in 2013.
