Only 19% of you chose Hop to repeat at the box office this past weekend, with the majority (31%) going with Hanna. Well, congrats to those 19% (and me!) for correctly predicting back-to-back wins for Hop at the box office, as the animated Easter Bunny-related flick scored $21 million over the weekend, which was enough to beat out all the other new releases.
Those new releases included Arthur ($12.6 million), which fought off its competition to squeak out a second-place finish. Rounding out the top five were your pick to win it all, Hanna ($12.3 million), Soul Surfer ($11.1 million) and Insidious ($9.74 million). The week’s other new release, Your Highness, just missed the top five, landing in sixth place with $9.52 million.
Since we rated Hop when it won the box office last weekend, we thought we’d instead look to get your opinions on all the new, wide releases. Want to get a critical opinion before you vote? Over at Rotten Tomatoes, it appears as if Hanna (71% Fresh) was the critics’ favorite film of the weekend, with Your Highness (24% Rotten) being the critics’ least favorite.
