A dark thriller, The New Mutants follows five young mutants who are still figuring out who and what, exactly, they are. Locked up in a mysterious facility, supposedly for their own good, they must deal with the consequences of their past misdeeds while simultaneously grappling with newfound abilities and their untapped potential for accomplishing great things and/or wreaking profound damage upon others.

As the young mutant recalls a particularly gruesome memory caused by his uncontrolled powers, it's no wonder that Roberto "needs to overcome his fears," as the actor says. "Roberto is a little overly confident," notes Zaga. We also see clips from other scenes that shed more light on Roberto, giving us a peek at his extraordinary abilities.
