The new trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron has been unleashed on the world, and if you thought the first trailer's twisted use of an iconic Pinocchio song was dark and intense, wait till you see what they do with it here. With plenty of new footage to pore over, this trailer definitely feels a lot grittier than, say, Guardians of the Galaxy -- sort of like Age of Ultron is shaping up to be the Empire Strikes Back of the Avengers series.

As you can see above, things ain't going so well for our favorite Marvel heroes this time around. The accidental creation of Ultron has lead to all-out havoc, with the Avengers (Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor and Captain America) recruiting Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) in their pursuit to put a stop to an all-powerful, out-of-control villain. Talk about a trailer that gives you chills....

Avengers: Age of Ultron comes to theaters on May 1, 2015.
