Young Jared (Lucas Hedges) has been raised by his loving, devout parents (Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman) in a small, close-knit town. When rumors begin to circulate about him, however, he finally decides he must talk with his parents, as revealed in our exclusive clip from Boy Erased.
His father, a Baptist pastor, and his mother must reconcile their own firmly-held beliefs with their love for their son. Jared is pressured into attending a conversion therapy program and comes into conflict with the group's leader (Joel Edgerton, who also wrote the screenplay and directed). In time, Jared comes to realize he must take his own path to acceptance.
