A Quiet Place Part II will leave you speechless: Paramount Pictures dropped the first trailer for A Quiet Place Part II, and now fans can rest assured that the sequel is doing justice to the original. This looks like just the sort of follow-up we need, if any, to the hit 2018 sci-fi horror movie. Watch the spot below and try to muffle your excitement as you wait for its release on March 20.

 

 

Never Rarely Sometimes Always constantly intrigues: Focus Features released the first trailer for the upcoming Sundance selection Never Rarely Sometimes Always, and it looks to be quite the captivating little indie film. Watch below, and if you’re not attending the festival later this month, you can find this one in theaters starting on March 13.

 

 

Gretel & Hansel promises a grim fairy tale: Orion Pictures released a second trailer for the upcoming indie horror movie Gretel & Hansel, and it looks absolutely creepy, just as the Brothers Grimm would have wanted. Watch the spot starring It’s Sophia Lillis below and see the fairy tale adaptation in theaters on starting on January 31.

 

CLASSIC MOVIE SCENES

The Grudge: There’s a new reboot of The Grudge in theaters this weekend, so this week’s classic movie scenes, courtesy of Movieclips, spotlight the Japanese original and two sequels to the American remake:

Ju-On: The Grudge: First up is a scary moment from Takashi Shimizu’s original movie, Ju-On (aka Ju-On: The Grudge), which hit the festival circuit in 2002 then opened theatrically in the U.S. on July 23, 2004, a few months before his own English-language remake came out.

 

 

The Grudge 2: Two years after redoing his movie for Hollywood, Shimizu directed a sequel to the remake. Sarah Michelle Gellar reprised her role from the previous installment but didn’t last very long. Spoiler alert: below is her character’s death scene. The Grudge 2 opened theatrically in the U.S. on October 13, 2006.

 

The Grudge 3: No horror movie franchise is complete without a bathtub attack, right? Here’s one from the second sequel to the first Grudge remake. The Grudge 3, which was directed by Toby Wilkins taking over from Shimizu, was released straight to video in the U.S., on May 12, 2009.
