Arnold Schwarzenegger has admitted to fathering a child with a member of his household staff more than ten years ago. According to TMZ, the news has sent Maria Shriver into the office of a powerful financial adviser to get her affairs in order to end her marriage.
Schwarzenegger told the Los Angeles Times, "After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."
The evolving story now has a new, somewhat mysterious twist with TMZ reporting that at least two different women met with Schwarzenegger five to seven years ago on different occasions at his Santa Monica office building around 1 a.m. carrying large manila envelopes. Sources familiar with the office building say there were several bedrooms in the suite where the women would meet with Schwarzenegger.
Meanwhile Shriver released a statement saying, "This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal."
Arnold's son Patrick took to Twitter posting, "Some days you feel like s**t, some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit, yet i love my family till death do us apart." The first part of that tweet are lyrics by hip-hop group Fort Minor.
