Painted with a villainous brush for many years, the titular character in Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil reminds us all that people are seldom what they appear to be. Angelina Jolie stars as a mighty figure who is capable of doing great harm, yet instead strives to be a source of great comfort to her people, as well as something more motherly to her dearly-beloved Aurora (Elle Fanning), despite surprising, ill-intentioned opposition from Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer).

It's no wonder that Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has soared in theaters everywhere; it's a complex, surprising adventure that features something different for every viewer. Can we anticipate any major titles in the near future? Here are three markedly distinct, upcoming Disney adventures.

Frozen II

Venturing beyond the boundaries of the first film, which focused primarily on the relationship between Elsa (Idina Menzel) and her sister Anna (Kristen Bell), the sequel follows the sisters as they journey to another land, together with their friends Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, in order to save their own kingdom. The trailer has already teased a great and perilous adventure ahead.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

We've been informed that Rey (Daisy Ridley) will continue her journey and that the Skywalker saga will conclude. We also know that Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher will be making appearances in the film, directed by J.J. Abrams. Beyond that, we can only hope for an unforgettable adventure that we've never seen before.

Onward

Two teen brothers (voiced by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt), who happen to be elves, set off on a grand adventure in search of magic. It also has something to do with their long-gone father. This looks to be a more light-hearted adventure, though it's sure to be both thoughtfully comic and delightfully substantial, since it's a tale of family from the wizards at Pixar and Disney.
