Fast Five

Ben-Hur: Israeli actress Gal Gadot (above in Fast Five), who will play Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and then star in her own stand-alone Wonder Woman movie in 2017, is in early negotiations for the female lead in the new version of Ben-Hur. She would portray a slave who becomes a love interest for the titular character (Jack Huston). Toby Kebbell and Morgan Freeman also star with Timur Bekmambetov directing, aiming for a release in February 2016. [The Hollywood Reporter]

The Dark Knight Rises

Steve Jobs: Earlier this year, we heard that David Fincher would only direct a movie based on the life and career of Apple cofounder Steve Jobs if Christian Bale agreed to star. Since then, Fincher dropped out and Danny Boyle came on board to helm the project, featuring a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin drawn from Walter Isaacson's biography. Now Bale is finally in talks to play the role, which is scheduled to shoot next spring. That would push back detective story The Deep Blue Good-by, for which Bale is still in talks to star. Cabaret

Cabaret: The first look at Emma Stone as Sally Bowles in the Broadway musical Cabaret should sell a few tickets. It's the role made famous by Liza Minelli, who won an Academy Award for her performance in Bob Fosse's 1972 film version. The current revival starring Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming opened earlier this year; Stone will make her Broadway debut on November 11 alongside Cumming and is scheduled through February 1, 2015.
