Captain America: Civil War: Jeremy Renner is now confirmed to appear as Hawkeye in Captain America: Civil War, due in theaters on May 6, 2016. The actor will film the sequel this spring and then join Amy Adams for Story of Your Life. The sci-fi drama will feature Adams as a linguist who attempts to make contact with extraterrestrials who have landed on Earth; Renner will play a physics professor who works with her to communicate with the aliens. Intelligent Life: Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World, Safety Not Guaranteed) will remain in the sci-fi genre with his next movie, Intelligent Life. Trevorrow wrote the script with his partner, Derek Connolly, and is attached to direct; he will also serve as a producer along with Jurassic World collaborator Frank Marshall. The story is said to have its roots in a previous project that has now been reconceived as "a big idea surrounded by rich characters." [Heat Vision]
The Shack: Octavia Spencer, who won an Academy Award for her performance in The Help, is in final negotiations to play God in an upcoming adaptation of William P. Young's novel The Shack.
