Justice League: Spoiler! Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike XXL, above) makes his first appearance as the DC character Deathstroke in Justice League, though it's not until after the credits roll that we see him. Now Manganiello has shared a photo of himself as the assassin Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke (below). In October we heard that Gareth Evans (The Raid: Redemption) was in talks to write and direct a Deathstroke solo movie; we're still waiting for confirmation on the project. [Instagram]
1,200 Souls: Jean Reno (The Adventurers, above) will star in 1,200 Souls. It's described as a fantasy thriller about a young woman who returns to her hometown in the border region between Spain and France to scatter her mother's ashes, only to discover "violence, deaths and the seemingly supernatural, such as … spontaneous combustion." Reno will play a helpful hermit known as Jacques the Frenchman. [Variety]
The Magic Flute: Roland Emmerich (Independence Day: Resurgence, above) will share in producing a modern-day version of Mozart's famed opera The Magic Flute. The story will follow a British teenager who begins attending a boarding school in the Alps, where he discovers a passage into the "fantastic world" of Mozart's opera. The Mercy Trailer: Colin Firth (above) stars in the first trailer for The Mercy as a yachtsman who enters a months-long sailing competition, only to desperately fabricate his journey. Inspired by a true story, the drama also stars Rachel Weisz and David Thewlis. It will open in U.K. theaters in February 2018. [Movieclips]
