The release dates of two more sequels have finally been revealed, proving each is indeed real and heading to a theater near you soon. Originally set to come out Memorial Day 2011, Mission Impossible 4 has been pushed back to December 16, 2011.
Some argue Paramount made the move to make room for J.J. Abrams' Super 8, also due out next summer, though it might be tough for a film shooting in the fall to be in the can and ready for consumption by Memorial Day. We know Abrams moves fast, but can he move that fast? In addition to the release date, Tom Cruise also confirmed that Brad Bird (The Incredibles) is going to direct, making this the first live-action film for the Pixar director.
Also, Men in Black III has grabbed a release date of May 25th, 2012. An official press release confirms Will Smith is set to return, and that Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin are in advanced negotiations to co-star alongside Smith. The film will be shot in 3D (which we expected), and Barry Sonnenfeld will return behind the camera. The plot, unfortunately, is being kept under wraps.
Which sequel are you looking forward to most: Mission Impossible 4 or Men in Black 3?
