Much of the known universe has been up in arms of late following news that the next Star Wars movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (due out December 16) is currently undergoing reshoots to fix some of the issues the studio feels the current version of the movie has.

Cue pandemonium!

What many do not know is that it's pretty routine for a big movie to carve out time for reshoots in this day and age, and you don't get much bigger a movie than Star Wars. The Hollywood Reporter did some further digging on the reshoots, learning a few things:

1. Their sources say part of the reshoots is to better match the tone of the original Star Wars movie since Rogue One "takes place just before A New Hope and leads up to the 10 minutes before that classic film begins."

What's notable about this is that A New Hope begins on Princess Leia's ship. If Rogue One ends 10 minutes before that, is there a chance we'll see a young Leia? Or will it all be told from Darth Vader's perspective, as he's the one chasing her down?

2. The reshoots are also reportedly meant to include a cameo from the new Han Solo, Alden Ehrenreich.

3. Claiming the tone of the movie was "off," THR notes the main purpose of these reshoots is to "lighten the mood, bring some levity into the story and restore a sense of fun to the adventure."

That's it in a nutshell, and all of it seems like pretty standard stuff, especially when it comes to the movie that's following something like The Force Awakens.

There are certain expectations that now need to be met, and as much as it'd be cool to veer off tone and deliver something unexpected from the Star Wars universe, at the end of the day it also needs to feel like a Star Wars movie. That right there is the most important thing -- and if Rogue One doesn't feel like a Star Wars movie just yet, we have confidence these reshoots will help it get there.

After all, this first teaser is pretty sweet.
