The Super Bowl is approaching, which means it's time for a whole slew of really expensive commercials to dazzle us in between touchdowns. Sure, there are some people who actually care about the game, but Fandango Freaks wanna know which movie trailers we'll get to see once the game gets underway, right? Last year brought about a revival of sorts when it came to studios buying time during the Super Bowl to air trailers for their big upcoming films. And this year looks to be no different, with at least three studios gearing up to give you a little taste of what to expect in 2010.

What we do know at this time (thanks to an article at adage) is that Paramount will be airing trailers for Shutter Island, Iron Man 2 and The Last Airbender. We're not sure if these will be made up of existing trailers or entirely new stuff, but since they're spending all that money we hope they'll be giving us something we haven't seen before.
 
Other studios that've already purchased a time slot include Universal Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures. Though there's no word on which trailers those studios will debut, we know that, for Universal, we'll see something from one (or more) of these films: The Wolfman, Robin Hood, Despicable Me or Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. And from Disney it will be from one (or more) of these films: Alice in Wonderland, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Toy Stoy 3.
 
Since Disney promoted Up last year, chances are Toy Story 3 will get a similar promo this year. That being the case, I am somewhat surprised not to see DreamWorks in there with Shrek Ever After, but maybe they're saving their pennies for another type of promo.
