The trailer of Inception, although intriguing with a Matrix-style fight scene and glimpse of Leonardo DiCaprio, left a bunch of us scratching our heads, wondering what the plot details are to Christopher Nolan's sci-fi follow up to The Dark Knight. The director's Batman installments raised the bar for superhero movie standards and infused pop culture with a new love for darker heroes. It also broke box office records left and right in both its IMAX and 35 MM formats. In a new LA Times interview, Nolan reveals that he's pushing for Inception to be even more massive.

Chris NolanA few things fans can expect—first, it's inspired by the 007 films Nolan loves: "I grew up watching James Bond films and loving those and watching spy movies with their globetrotting sensibility.... We get to do that here, not just geographically but also in time and dimensions of reality as well. We get to make a movie that’s expansive, I suppose you’d say, in four dimensions."

So it'll be like James Bond. On sci-fi steroids. In four dimensions. Cool. Second, it'll incorporate corporate espionage—by invasion of dreams. That should shed some light on the trailer. Third, you can count on a mixing pot of genres: Thriller? Check. Romance? A lost love counts. Heist? Yup—at least in the metaphysical sense. Nolan says Inception is his biggest challenge yet. But the question remains. Can it really top Batman? Let us know what you think.
