Hey, I’m all for fun, movie-related cakes and all, but you have to admit that this one, um, kinda takes the cake on freaky cakes. Constructed out of red velvet cake (yum), Rice Krispies and fondant, this may in fact be the most realistic movie character cake I’ve ever seen. You almost half expect Yoda to mutter something like, “Eat me not, alive I still am” right before the kid standing next to you with a plate and a smile digs a knife into the green dude’s eyes in order to cut himself a big, fat piece of that tasty Jedi treat.

Yoda cake

The cake comes via Instructables (a site where people post fun projects along with the steps they took to make them), and here’s what the Yoda cake creator had to say about his masterpiece: “I’m an artist who recently has gotten into cake decorating and have fallen in love with it! I’m currently taking the beginner cake decorating classes and hoping to land a job at a bakery. I decided to try making my first sculpted cake and chose Yoda as the subject. It was so much fun and I’ve found my passion! This is a red velvet cake (with rice krispie treats for the ears) covered in fondant. i tried to get as much detail as I could. I wanted to finish the bust with fondant clothing over the neck area and covering the pan and plate but I ran out of time and fondant. Yoda was very yummy! Everyone said it was sad to cut into him, but we went to the dark side that night. :) Hopefully I will have time soon to continue the Star Wars theme with another sculpted cake.”

Would you actually eat this cake, or would you instead sit it up on top of your television so Yoda’s face can forever watch over your living room?
