In Knight of Cups, director Terrence Malick paints a portrait of Rick, a Hollywood screenwriter who is on an odyssey of self-reflection and indulgence in and around the cities of Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Throughout his search, Rick, played by Christian Bale, also tries to connect with his father (Brian Dennehy) and brother (Wes Bentley), as well as a stream of women who come in and out of his life.
