Not surprisingly, Clash of the Titans won the weekend box office with a pretty decent showing of $61 million, fueled, in part, by the fact that a 3D version of the film was available alongside your standard 2D version. However, what you may or may not already know about the 3D featured in Titans is that it was added to the film after the fact, once Avatar made a killing at the box office. Considered by many to be a rush job (because the decision to convert was made only a couple months before), Warner Bros. still went through with the conversion, announcing they'd also be converting some other big 2010 films, like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

"Clash of the Titans"

But was it worth it? A bunch of folks I know felt the conversion of Titans was too all over the place; that it made some sick and dizzy. Then again, other films that have been converted to 3D (like Pixar's Up, for example) looked really great, though you can make an argument that it's easier to make CGI films look better when converted to 3D than live action movies.

I'm of the belief that it depends on the movie. Maybe it didn't work for Titans, but it'll look great with Potter. What do you think? Sound off in the poll below and in the comments section with your thoughts on the 3D in Clash of the Titans, and conversion 3D in general.
