It’s a bird, it’s a plane – it’s Superman’s hottie mom! Warner Bros. announced today that Diane Lane has joined Zack Snyder’s Superman film as Clark Kent’s adoptive mother here on earth. Though it’s not official yet, rumor has it Kevin Costner is wanted to play Kent’s adoptive father, "Pa" Kent, which leads us to believe Kent’s parents will play big roles in the film. 
It may be a little strange to see younger parents for Kent, especially since Henry Cavill (who’s playing Kent/Superman) is 27. Could they be using Lane and Costner primarily for flashbacks, or will this version of Superman simply have a younger, more attractive set of adoptive parents?
On the decision to cast Lane, Snyder said, "This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination."
