From Lizerne Guiting: Hall H in San Diego’s Convention Center was the place to be on Thursday, as some 6,000 Twilight fans lined up hours to grab a good seat in the Q&A session with the cast members and director.

Robert Pattinson What was the big deal? Robert Pattinson, whom many recognize as Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter. The 22-year-old actor plays Edward Cullen, a vampire who falls in love with a teenage girl in Twilight, based on the hugely successful young adult novel. Catcalls and screams erupted from a predominantly female audience whenever he appeared on the big-screen monitor, the noise making it hard to hear the panelists. “Jeez, I can’t even concentrate,” he said. “I didn’t expect (this). It baffles me, but it’s nice, though.”

Didn’t expect it? Hate to break it to you Rob, but with looks like those, they’ll come after you like Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers!

It seems like Kristen Stewart had no idea of Twilight’s fan following either. “I didn’t know where I was living – under a boulder, perhaps – but I hadn’t heard of the book,” she said. The audience responded with groans.

Here are more snippets from the panelists:

Director Catherine Hardwicke: “When we were doing the kissing scene, Rob got a little too passionate and fell off the bed and onto the floor.”

Kristen Stewart, on her favorite scene: “We were doing this improv, and frolicking in the leaves and I stick my finger in his mouth – and I say, ‘You want to taste?!’”

Rachelle Lefevre: “Vampires are extraordinarily powerful – there’s something really sexy about having that much power – and we all enjoyed that part of it very much!”

Robert to Taylor Lautner, regarding the commotion from the audience: “They just want you to take your shirt off!”
