Lately it seems like we can't go more than a couple of days without hearing about another actor being in consideration, circling or rumored for a comic book movie role. Given that over the past two years comic book movies have grossed $6.9 billion worldwide, Hollywood seems more than willing to endure an occasional dud here or there in exchange for a monster global box office take.

Naturally, you need actors to play these superheroes, and lately we've seen a mix of established actors mingle with lesser known talents to bring the comic book films to life. With that in mind, we decided to take a look at all the various actors since Comic-Con who have been rumored, in consideration or expressed interested in a particular fanboy property.

Sharni Vinson as Elektra and/or Tomb Raider

What She Said: "When it comes to physical roles, I thrive on that and something like the Lara Croft series would just be amazing because it's the same type of female empowerment that we're trying to get across and I think is just a stand-up role model for all women out there. If I could be the one that can portray that and hopefully kickstart that off again in this generation, that would be amazing... Give me Elektra, something cool. Nathan Fillion as Bruce Wayne/Batman

Joe Manginello as Batman

What He Said: "There are so many superhero projects out there that it's almost like they're becoming normal, so I want to do one that just flips it on its head and makes it crazy. I want to make the Fight Club of superhero movies." [MTV]

John Leguizamo as the Joker

What He Said: "I am not against comic book movies. I just feel that I have seen enough zombies, vampires and apocalyptic comic book superheroes in my lifetime. I want to see real people on the screen for a while. But hell yeah, I would do Batman. The Joker would be a blast!" [Desde Hollywood]

What He Said: "Obviously I would love to play that part, but Marvel and that studio they're a megamachine, and they have the people in mind that they want to do. Gina Carano as Wonder Woman

What She Said: "That's the ultimate superhero for a woman. No matter what, no matter who ends up being Wonder Woman someday, I just hope it's something that is done correctly. I know it's there and that it could definitely be done correctly. It's just a matter of getting the right people and having the right vision come together. Alex Daddario as Wonder Woman

What She Said: "Whether I'm in a Wonder Woman movie or not, I would love to be. I would love to see Wonder Woman get made. I would love to see this strong, female action hero." [Collider]

Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor

What He Said: "Firstly, I'm flattered to have been offered to be one of The Avengers. Honestly, I think it's one of the best f***ing compliments you can have, to be part of that gang. That piece is such an ensemble that you have to find how that character can really stand out, not only amongst movie stars but iconic superheroes. He's such a small piece that you don't just jump onto a job like that and put the suit on, you really need to have some backstory and a mindset for that character, so we'll keep working on it and we'll see."
