Disney already had a momentous presentation at this summer’s Comic-Con, where the studio announced many upcoming Marvel movies including new Doctor Strange and Thor sequels. The Mouse House had even more to share this season, though, at their very own fan convention, D23.

The event, which was held in Anaheim over the weekend, confirmed yet another installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while also teasing upcoming releases from their Star Wars, Pixar, and Walt Disney Animation Studios brands. Here’s everything we learned and saw at the 2019 D23 Expo:

Black Panther II

One of the biggest gifts Disney brought fans was confirmation of a Black Panther sequel. We knew the movie would happen, but now we know when it will happen. Black Panther II (title subject to change) will star Chadwick Boseman reprising his titular superhero role and is currently being scripted and will be directed by re-turning filmmaker Ryan Coogler. As revealed at D23, the follow-up hits theaters May 6, 2022.

Frozen II (sign up for a Fan Alert)

Another highly anticipated sequel arrives much sooner. Frozen II takes fans back to Arendelle six years after the release of the original animated phenomenon. We learned that Evan Rachel Wood is voicing Anna and Elsa’s mother in flashback scenes while fel-low newcomer Sterling K. Brown plays the new character, Lieutenant Matthias, both of them pictured below. The movie opens on November 22.

Raya and the Last Dragon

Walt Disney Animation revealed its next title, arriving a year after Frozen II. Titled Raya and the Last Dragon, the epic fantasy adventure is inspired by Southeast Asian culture and mythology and features the voice of Awkwafina as the titular pink, blue and white dragon. Check out what she and Raya look like in concept art below. The animated feature, scripted by Adele Lim, screenwriter of Crazy Rich Asians, is due in theaters on November 25, 2020.

Onward (sign up for a Fan Alert)

Also due out in the next year is the original Pixar animated feature Onward, which stars the voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt as elf brothers who go on a magical adventure after receiving some special gifts from their late father. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss was revealed to be playing their mother, while Octavia Spencer voices a character who helps the boys on their quest. Check out some new Onward art below and see this one in theaters on March 6, 2020.

Soul

Another original Pixar movie due out next year is Soul, helmed by new studio head and Up and Inside Out director Pete Docter. Jamie Foxx was announced as the star of the existential animated feature as the voice of a jazz-loving music teacher who is separated from his soul. Tina Fey co-stars as a new soul called “22,” while Phylicia Rashad and Questlove voice other human characters. Check out some new art from the movie below. Soul is set for release on June 19, 2020.

Cruella

Moving on to live-action movies based on Disney’s animated fea-tures, the studio shared a first-look image of Cruella, a prequel spun off from the 1961 classic One Hundred and One Dalmatians. In the still image, we see a two-tone-haired Emma Stone as the titular dog-despising villainess along with some Dalmatians and a couple of minions by her side. See the image below. Cruella opens on May 28, 2021.

The Eternals

Back to the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’ve already known about The Eternals and most of its cast, but Marvel Studios revealed that Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington has joined as the human superhero character Black Knight. The plot of the movie will involve his romance with the Eternal named Sersi (Gemma Chan). Disney and Marvel also revealed Barry Keoghan is part of the cast and shared a look at all of the actors in front of concept art of their costumed characters behind them. The Eternals arrives on the big screen on November 6, 2020.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (sign up for a Fan Alert)
