The Matrix 4 was officially announced: After years of reboot and sequel rumors, Warner Bros. revealed they’re making a fourth Matrix movie, for which Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return. Lana Wachowski will co-write and direct the installment, according to Variety.
The next James Bond movie got a title: When you’re a franchise as old as the 007 series, title reveals are big news. As was the case for the 25th James Bond movie, which EON Productions announced will be called No Time to Die. Daniel Craig returns as Bond in the sequel, due out in April 2020.
Michael Rooker joined Fast & Furious 9: In other sequel news, the ninth installment of the main Fast & Furious series has cast Guardians of the Galaxy favorite Michael Rooker. Deadline reported that his character is named Buddy but had no other details on whether he’s a good or bad guy.
Tracy Morgan joined Coming 2 America: Casting continued for the Coming to America sequel, with The Hollywood Reporter sharing news that comedy star Tracy Morgan will play the hustler brother of Leslie Jones’ new character. Also per THR, Garcelle Beauvais will reprise her role as a rose petal priestess and Nomzamo Mbatha was cast as in an undisclosed role. Deadline additionally reported the addition of singer and Power star Rotini to the cast.
Annabelle Wallis to star in James Wan’s next horror movie: Variety reported that The Mummy star Annabelle Wallis will reunite with director James Wan for his next project, tentatively titled Silvercup. They last worked together on Annabelle, a Conjuring spin-off produced by Wan. Variety also later reported British actor George Young will play opposite Wallis in the secret horror movie.
Rambo: Last Blood resurrects an action icon: Sylvester Stallone is back as one of his most famous characters in the first trailer for Rambo: Last Blood, which teases a personal but action-packed sequel involving a Mexican drug cartel and a house full of booby traps. Watch the spot below.
Bombshell teases the heat: In the first teaser trailer for Bombshell, about the downfall of Fox News boss Roger Ailes, Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman show off their pitch perfect portrayals of Megan Kelly and Gretchen Carlson while Margot Robbie joins as a fictional character. Watch it below.
Underwater looks deeply terrifying: The first trailer for the action thriller Underwater, which seems to like Alien but set deep in the ocean, promises plenty of subaquatic scares. Watch the mysterious spot, which stars Kristen Stewart as the Ripley of the sea, below.
