As August fades away into our cinematic memory, it will be remembered for the dominant performance put forth by Rise of the Planet of the Apes (your most anticipated movie for August) and The Help, which came in third in our poll and stayed on top of the box office thanks to positive word of mouth and a crop of movies that audiences passed on.
Abduction, Drive, Apollo 18, Bucky Larson, Moneyball, Contagion, Shark Night 3-D, Warrior
I'm looking forward to Killer Elite! I love the good fighting action in so many of Jason Statham's films! I may also go to abduction with one of my tween relatives, It looks like it could be good also.
Can hardly wait to see Contagion today ! I love these types of movies. Will let you know how it was.
Your theater has not given much advance notice to upcoming films in September. I'm sure that money has been paid for the films that won't come until next spring, but I think you owe moviegoers the information about what is coming soon. Only 3 trailers and no posters is not fair to us.
Contagion. Matt Damon is great.
over 30........Name some that have a minimal amount of blood. I don't want to see pictures of parts of bodies. I have seen enough at work.
I am most excited for Straw Dogs...Not even remotely a Kate Bosworth fan, but the movie has Alexander Skarsgard! Come on, there have to be some TruBies out there with me! Plus it has James Marsden, X-Men, anyone? Then I am excited for Drive and 50/50!
Tucker and Dale may be THE FUNNIEST horror/comedy movies that I have EVER seen. The story line is original, which we aren't seeing too much of among all the sequels, prequels and horrid remakes. I have told everyone I know about this movie... I just can't say enough good things about it..... If you haven't watched the trailer, DO IT!... I don't go to see movies in theaters that often, most just don't seem worth my time, or money (until they some out on DVD and I can rent them for $1), but I'll be first in line to buy tickets to see this in theaters!
Moneyball, 50/50, and Tucker and Dale
Please, more movies for grown ups,(over 30).
"Drive", "The Debt", "Straw Dogs"(Or just watch the original), "Moneyball", "Dream house", "Machine Gun Preacher", "Take Shelter" That is a pretty good amount of "grown up" movies for you. "50/50" might also appeal to some over 30s because of the subject matter.
I'm dying to see George Clooney in THE IDES OF MARCH. When
is it coming out?
Darn I just noticed "Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame" is coming out September too. I will definitely see that since I'm a huge Andy Lau fan. And really, if nothing up there doesn't interest you then either you haven't seen the trailers or you don't like movies.
The "Courageous" Looks fantastic in the trailers. Raising father's up to take more responsibility with our children in a loving way. And "Dolphin tail" Looks wonderful for the family as a whole. So tired of old remakes like " Lion King" as a mom seen it too many times. Our famlly prefers movies to enjoy together.
Nothing interests me this month. Best to save money for those Fall releases.
The Debt is the one that will be on my list for good, adult thriller and The Killer Elite will fill the role of action/adventure fare for me! The others, well, I will wait till I have a bad case of insomnia one night in the near future and watch them on the tv.....
Top 3 for me are Drive,The Debt and Moneyball
None of them sound any good, so I just voted for Lion King because you can't go wrong with a classic.
Drive all the way! I am afraid of the amount of Hype this film is getting but I hope I can ignore it enough so it won't ruin the film. But either way I have been waiting a long time for this film. Looks fantastic. Wow, no love for "Take Shelter" ? That does look pretty decent, I would probably put that on my 3rd or 4th anticipated sept. movie. Oh man! Just can't get over Drive. This Hype better not destroy it.
Im on this Drive hype also I've never really seen any movies from this director so I don't really know what to expect but Im hearing awesome things about this film. And it looks like a really violent movie, which I enjoy because Tarantino's my fav. director hahaha
contagion, abduction, 50/50.
This list gives me a tepid feeling of interest.
go abduction taylor is so ******* sexy and we get to see those abs again woo hoo :)
taylor lautner is such a garbage actor. he has abs .... wow... the movie will fall flat at theaters.
you're just jealous.
There's some good ones and some legitimate oscar contenders too this month so excited.Movie that im personally looking forward to are Warrior,Drive,Moneyball,50/50 and Take Shelter. But Drive,Moneyball, and 50/50 are must see's for me.SO EXCITED!!! :)
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
