The first motion picture from acclaimed Broadway director Julie Taymor, based on one of Shakespeare's lesser-known plays, Titus Andronicus. Titus Andronicus (Anthony Hopkins) is a Roman general who's war-weary, having lost several of his sons to the Goths in a bloody confrontation. His first-born son Lucius (Angus Macfadyen) suggests he sacrifice the life of an enemy prisoner as a token of thanks to the gods for the Roman victory.
